ST. LOUIS (June 3, 2025) — While rotating chemistries is essential to help manage weeds in continuous wheat-growing regions, rotating genetics can also improve yield potential and provide better grain quality and disease tolerance packages.
The CoAXium® Wheat Production System, in rotation with the Clearfield® Plus Wheat Production System, helps to enable growers in continuous wheat production to manage weeds more effectively in their fields. Winter wheat growers looking for clean fields, higher yield potential and outstanding grain quality have proven-performing WestBred® Wheat brand CoAXium and Clearfield Plus variety options for planting in 2025.
“Whether or not it’s time to rotate chemistries, this season is a great time to look at planting herbicide-tolerant varieties that are bred differently to help with improved yield potential, grain quality and better agronomics,” said Mark Lubbers, WestBred
technical product manager. “In the Southern and Central regions, WB4445CLP and WB4739AX are solid rotation options offering good disease tolerance packages and broad adaptability with outstanding yield, quality and grazing potential.”
There is a strong lineup of winter wheat varieties available for planting in each region, and the WestBred Wheat brand continues to evaluate high-performing, herbicide tolerant varieties for its future product portfolio.
“Growers in the Central Plains and Southern regions looking for proven-performing wheat with outstanding forage potential have dual-purpose, herbicide-tolerant and conventional variety choices from WestBred Wheat,” said Lubbers. “These products come with solid disease tolerance packages, insect tolerances and good grain quality.
There are also solid varieties to plant on dryland acres with proven performance potential and key agronomic traits.”
