The widening spread between Brent crude and WTI crude is drawing attention across the ag sector, as energy prices continue to influence input costs and overall market sentiment. Ongoing concerns around fertilizer remain front and center, especially with the Strait of Hormuz still closed, tightening global supply channels. Ethanol markets are also in focus, with current stocks and production levels being monitored closely. Meanwhile, wildfires in western Nebraska have burned more than 828,000 acres, adding another layer of concern for the region. Arlan Suderman with StoneX explains that despite these factors, the futures market has yet to fully react, suggesting traders may still be waiting for more clarity before making significant moves.
